Another Sweater for Fall
Moon River is a new brand I have come upon. I’m always late to the game when it comes to brands but ASOS really does help me out of that comfort zone when it comes to shopping from new retailers. Now that they are on my radar, I definitely will be looking at more of their vintage inspired pieces. In the time being, I will be wearing this creamy mustard yellow cable knit sweater all Fall long. I’m very much a sweater person, will wear them in the dead of summer here in Texas, so we know this piece will be loved.
Talking about being loved, this deep chocolate silky midi dress will be another fall to winter favorite. I was looking for this beauty to create this exact look. I had a vision, well, ASOS kind of helped again. They had a beautiful model wear this Moon River sweater over top of a silk maxi dress and I knew I needed to create my own version of that exact look. So to the thrift store I went. I had plenty of silk camisoles in my closet but yet had success finding a silk dress in my size. With the intentions of finding exactly what I was looking for, this beauty was just waiting for me on those racks at my local Texas Thrift. It was just a matter of time and timing was just about perfect this go around. Paying I believe a total of $2 for it, I was beyond thrilled.
Just a little scenario on how the thrift stores are the perfect place to look for literally everything you want to hang in your closet. I mentioned this on my Instagram this past week but when you thrift you are also recycling. You are helping the environment and you are shopping in a sustainable way. This is something I have learned from several fellow vintage lovers and it really has opened my eyes. While I still shop from the occasional “big name” stores, I have realized that I want a closet full of items that have a story and still have life left in them. I really encourage everyone to get out there and shop used. Take two hours out of your week, you’ll be hooked I promise.
