It has been one busy holiday weekend so I am taking the opportunity of this calm Sunday evening to finally put together my July Fourth OOTD. I know, a couple days late but hey, rather late then never right? Everyone loves the opportunity to wear a nautical outfit so just take my late posting as an excuse to squeeze that outfit in!
Patterns on Patterns is the post title and I would have to say that it is unquestionably suitable. I have three different patterns in this outfit and it is relatively easy to do yourself. Just start with a button down that you find yourself most attracted to, for me right now that is my seersucker Ralph Lauren Oxford. I layered on top a nautical rope sweater from Old Navy, If you dont have many light weight sweaters check out Old Navy they always have great deals and super cute items. The last detail to pull this look together is a patterned bottom, if that is a pant or skirt. Clearly I went with a more girly and dresser look with this polk-a-dot black and white skirt which I am obsessed with right now! Put your own twist on it, patterns are always fun to play with.
Does anyone else think that hunter boots are absolutely adorable, because I cannot get enough of them. I would love to have that closet you see on Pinterest where there are rows upon rows of different color hunters. A girl can most definitely dream!
Want to finish this outift with a more dressier feel? Add a statement necklace that has a pop of color, like I did with this notorious JCrew rose necklace.
Celebretaing America’s Birthday is always fun and with a festive outfit it makes the occasion even better!
I Hope everyone had a great Fourth of the July weekend that was filled with lots of food and sparklers.
With much love,
P.S. If you want to show me your pattern on pattern Outfit Of The Day, Instagram your outfit with the #fashionalec. I would love to see what you all create!
